When Andrzej Dutkanicz (Andy) is not lending a hand at the Yale Peabody Museum you can guarantee that he is probably making art somewhere in Westville. He arrived in New Haven while studying studio art at Southern Connecticut State University. It was at SCSU that he shared classes with featured artist Nick Robinson. Andy’s work ranges from collages and sketches to abstract pen & ink drawings. He says, “One day I let my friends scribble in my sketchbook and then I started to fill it in with detailed pen work and added color.” Don’t miss Andy and his artwork at the Once In A Lifetime exhibition opening February 6, 2014 at Sumner McKnight Crosby Jr. Gallery at the Arts Council of Greater New Haven.
